About Nusenda Credit Union

Nusenda Credit Union is dedicated to improving our members' financial well-being and supporting New Mexico's communities. We do this through affordable products, friendly service, community involvement, and financial education. At Nusenda, we look for ways to go above and beyond to serve our members and be their trusted financial advisor by helping them achieve their financial goals.

We're a credit union, not a bank. Which means we have members, not customers. And because we're a not-for-profit, we pay earnings to members in the form of higher savings rates and lower loan rates. But that's just the beginning — we also participate in making our communities better places to live and work. Every year we have a direct impact on the social and economic health of our community, as well as supporting innovations and education to build an exciting future for generations to come.

We are continually reinventing what we do and how we do it to better serve our members. Guided by the seven cooperative principles of credit unions, we are committed to rewarding those we serve. We are dedicated to making a positive difference in not only our members' lives, but also for our state. That's The Power of WE® in action!

As a Nusenda Credit Union member, you'll love what we can do for you — become a member today.

Our History

Nusenda Credit Union was founded in 1936, when eight local educators, led by Maurine Grammer, applied for a charter to form Albuquerque Public Schools Federal Credit Union. Throughout the years, we've grown from providing financial resources to educators and members of their families to serving hundreds of thousands of members in more than 500 businesses, nonprofits, and educational institutions across the Land of Enchantment.

Today, we're proud to be the largest credit union in New Mexico, both in membership and assets.
