FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 15, 2025
Las Cruces, NM – Casa de Peregrinos (CdP) is proud to announce the unveiling of its newly named conference room in honor of Nusenda Credit Union, recognizing their outstanding partnership with the Hope for the Holidays Thanksgiving Food Drive. This celebration acknowledges Nusenda’s generous $50,000 donation, which provided Thanksgiving meals to families in need throughout our community last year and will also impact this coming year’s Hope for the Holidays event.
The event will take place on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the Casa de Peregrinos office, located at 999 W. Amador Building 1, Las Cruces, NM, 88005 from 4 to 6 pm. This momentous occasion highlights the strength of collaboration and a shared commitment to fighting food insecurity in southern New Mexico. Nusenda Credit Union continues to make a lasting impact in Las Cruces with its dedication to the community through financial wellbeing initiatives, longstanding community partnerships, and with financial support via sponsorships and grant awards.
“We are humbled and incredibly fortunate to partner with Nusenda, they have already contributed to our mission since there arrival to Las Cruces. It’s a blessing and their timing is simply impeccable with this generous contribution. Nusenda, like CdP aims to make a lasting impact in the needs of our community, their wonderful motto says it all: “The Power of WE,” said CDP’s Executive Director Lorenzo Alba, Jr.
“We are incredibly honored by this recognition from the Casa de Peregrinos team. At Nusenda, we believe in rolling up our sleeves and working alongside organizations that make a difference,” said Nusenda President and CEO Michelle Dearholt. “From the moment we began supporting their organization last year, we saw how deeply rooted Casa is in our community, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for our partnership.”
“Casa de Peregrinos welcomed us with open arms, and this recognition is incredibly meaningful,” said Nusenda’s Chief Community Engagement Officer Sara Keller. “This partnership goes beyond giving, and it’s about standing shoulder to shoulder to support our community. We’re proud to continue walking alongside Casa in their vital work.”
“This partnership is flourishing with each day that passes, thank you Nusenda,” added Alba.
