Nusenda Credit Union has been named by Albuquerque Journal readers as Best Bank for the second straight year and Best Credit Union for the ninth consecutive year. Nusenda was also ranked No.1 in the Best Auto Loan and Best Business Donor (nonprofit) categories. Nusenda has won the best credit union category since the awards began nine years ago.
“At Nusenda we are always looking for ways to go above and beyond to serve our members and their communities, and this service is made possible by our more than 700 steadfast employees,” said Nusenda President/CEO Joe Christian. “We are thankful for this recognition, which confirms our employees are doing the right things for our 240,000 members and the communities we serve.”
Nusenda prioritizes the financial wellbeing of its members in a variety of ways including reduced fees, top savings and loan rates, and member rewards and dividends. In 2021, Nusenda provided over $34,000,000 in direct savings to members. In the same year, Nusenda along with the Nusenda Foundation donated $1.7 million to local communities and the organizations that support them.
Nusenda Credit Union employs more than 700 New Mexicans. It hired 156 new employees in 2021 and continues to expand its workforce in 2022 to support its growing presence across the state. The latest growth includes expansion in Santa Fe, with a new location that opened in June at DeVargas Center, and construction on a new Southside location with plans to open in the fall of 2022.
