Albuquerque, N.M. – Today, Nusenda announced the 2024 application period for its Financial Education Innovation Award. This program began in 2018 to recognize educators who go above and beyond to improve financial well-being across New Mexico. These awards demonstrate Nusenda’s ongoing commitment to strengthening communities and investing in innovative solutions that improve education, health, social, and economic outcomes.
“We are thrilled to continue honoring educators and organizations dedicated to enhancing financial well-being across the state,” said Nusenda President and CEO Joe Christian. “Nusenda believes that investing in innovative solutions makes a positive impact in our communities, and the recipients of these awards exemplify that same belief.”
This year, the Credit Union plans to award a total of $20,000, with $15,000 designated for an organizational effort and five $1,000 classroom educator awards. The winners will be announced in April to celebrate Financial Literacy Month.
“These awards are designed to support organizations and educators who are impacting New Mexicans’ financial well-being in unique ways,” said Sara Keller, Nusenda’s Senior Vice President of Community Engagement and Executive Director of the Nusenda Foundation. “If you are an educator or organization who needs a funding boost for an innovative idea, apply now.”
