Las Cruces, N.M. – New Mexico State University’s College of Business recently honored Joe Christian, Nusenda’s President and CEO, along with other alumni for outstanding career achievements at the 2024 Hall of Fame banquet.
Established in 1997 by the College of Business, the Hall of Fame award honors outstanding business college alumni who have distinguished themselves in their careers. Through the Hall of Fame, the college seeks to create visibility for its alumni and develop a strong relationship with the business community.

As the first in my family to attend college, the support I received from NMSU during my education was critical to my success,” said Nusenda President and CEO Joe Christian. “Induction into the NMSU College of Business Hall of Fame is a testament to the foundational concepts I learned during my educational journey in the MBA program. These concepts have helped guide Nusenda Credit Union’s strategic direction, influencing everything from thought leadership to career development, to technological advances. This achievement is also a reflection of the many talented, dedicated individuals I help lead who are committed to supporting the economic growth of families and businesses in New Mexico and West Texas.”
With over 35 years of service at Nusenda Credit Union, Joe Christian has held several key leadership positions, including his current role as President/ CEO. Prior to this, he served as Executive Vice President of Operations from 2014 to 2019, Chief Operations Officer from 2011 to 2014, and Chief Administrative Officer from 2007 to 2011. Joe’s career at Nusenda began in 1986 as Data Processing Manager, where he led the Information Systems Department. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on leadership, strategy, and innovation, contributing significantly to Nusenda's success. Joe has received multiple accolades, including Leadership Awards from the Albuquerque Journal in 2019 and 2022, and he was named one of the top 100 national Influencers in Finance by The Business Journals in 2019. He also serves on the boards of CU Anytime, the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, and Constellation Digital Partners, among others.
