Nusenda Credit Union holds 89th Annual Meeting

Albuquerque, N.M. – Nusenda Credit Union conducted its 89th Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the Albuquerque Public Schools Berna Facio Professional Development Center, located at 3315 Louisiana Blvd. NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The meeting celebrated the Credit Union’s strong performance in 2024 and the people-first values that continue to guide its service to members and communities across New Mexico and West Texas.

Key accomplishments in 2024 included:

  • Membership growing to nearly 280,000.
  • Assets nearing $5 billion, strengthening the Credit Union’s position as the largest locally owned credit union in New Mexico.
  • A successful acquisition of Western Heritage Bank, the first in the state, extending Nusenda’s reach and services into West Texas.
  • More than $2.4 million invested in community programs, including $700,000 in Community Rewards grants supporting 70 local organizations.
  • A record 5,976 hours were volunteered by employees to causes that matter our communities.
  • Expansion of Nusenda’s Microloan program, providing $472,000 to borrowers with limited access to traditional financing.
  • Continued partnerships with schools and universities to deliver financial education and resources to students and families.
  • National and local recognition as a top workplace, including being named a USA TODAY Top Workplace and the #1 Top Workplace (Large Company) by the Albuquerque Journal for the third time.

During the meeting, Denise IrionRamon “Ray” Renteria, and Randall “Randy” Trask were elected to serve three-year terms on Nusenda’s Board of Directors. All three bring extensive experience in finance, education, and economic development. (Bios available upon request.)
